La Vega suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 43-22 loss to Stephenville. The Pirates had been ranked 25th, but fell to 53 following the defeat.
Robinson extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region III District 17 this week by beating Whitney, 48-6. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Lorena's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Harris Coleman threw for 258 and three touchdowns and Cole Channon had 124 yards receiving. On the ground Duggan Burch chipped in 62 yards. Brian Bays helped Lorena's passing attack out by catching four balls for 80 yards.
Lorena's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Leopards feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Coleman has thrown for 564 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Bays has 12 catches for 297 yards. Coleman also leads the league in rushing with 464 yards.
West moved up to 786 from 942 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Trojans climbed the ranks as a result of a 19-13 win over Clifton.
