The Mater Academy Charter Lions pushed their score all the way to 62 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a  70-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Elite Academy. While losing is never fun, Mater Academy Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings  (they are ranked 271st, while Elite Academy is ranked 134th).
 Despite the loss, Mater Academy Charter still got an impressive performance from   Solomon Leinbock, who  went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 5 assists.  Sebastian Tello was another key contributor,  scoring ten points along with six  rebounds.
 Leading Elite Academy to victory were  Ladainian Brooks and  Kyler Theophile.  Brooks  dropped  a double-double on 24 points and ten  rebounds, while  Theophile  went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 3 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Theophile has scored all season. Another player making a difference was  Justin Morgan, who  scored nine points.
 This is  the second loss in a row for Mater Academy Charter and  nudges their season record down to 11-7. As for Elite Academy, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four games,  which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.
 Mater Academy Charter will be playing in front of their home fans against Westminster Christian at 7:30  p.m.  on Monday. One thing working in Westminster Christian's favor is that they have posted big  point totals  in their last six contests. Elite Academy will be staying on the road  on Wednesday to face off against ABF Academy at 7:00  p.m.  on January 24th.
