Baseball Recap: Clairemont's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Clairemont came tearing into Tuesday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 14-8 margin over the San Diego Cavers. Considering the Chieftains have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Bo Osland, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Brendan Weiss, who went 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.

Clairemont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in five consecutive games.

Clairemont's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for San Diego, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-19-1 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Clairemont beat San Diego by a score of 1-0 on Thursday.
