Bandera is 0-10 against Fredericksburg since March of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Bandera BULLDOGS will host the Fredericksburg Billies at 7:00 p.m. The contest will give Bandera their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
Bandera is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Friday. They lost 10-0 to Natalia.
Bandera saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preslee Jade, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, while Fredericksburg put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Gonzales. Everything went Fredericksburg's way against Gonzales as Fredericksburg made off with an 8-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Billies, who have now won five games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Ava Stuewe was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base.
In other pitching news, Makenna Duecker tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over 5.1 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in earned runs (zero).
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Addison Schoessow, who scored a run while going 4-for-5. She also brought in three RBI, marking her first of the season. Jaycee Treibs was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI.
Fredericksburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Fredericksburg pushed their record up to 8-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Bandera, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.
