Football Recap: Kerman Piles Up the Points Against Reedley

Kerman extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 6-1. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 49-14 win over the Reedley Pirates. Considering the Lions have won five games by more than 32 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Adrian Torres was his usual excellent self, throwing for 278 yards and three TDs while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushing for 42 yards and one score. Jorge Antunez was another key player, rushing for 60 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries.

Another reason for the win was Kerman's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. In that department, Peyton Coleman was the leader with three.

As for Reedley, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-2 record. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 536th, while Kerman is ranked 196th).

Despite the loss, Reedley had strong showings from Will Bacon, who rushed for 67 yards and one TD on only seven carries, and Kyle Bacon, who picked up 107 receiving yards and one score. Kyle didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made six total tackles.
