The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Board of Directors voted Thursday to cancel immediately the championship basketball and ice hockey games scheduled for Saturday and Sunday due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The MIAA said in a statement on its website that schools participating in the state finals would be considered co-champions.
The association also pushed back the start of the spring sports season to March 30 due to the "fluidity of the situation." The spring season was set to start Monday.
