The West Mecklenburg Hawks will head out on the road to take on the Huss Huskies at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. West Mecklenburg is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, West Mecklenburg was the victim of a rough 65-44 loss at the hands of Hough. West Mecklenburg was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-20.
West Mecklenburg's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Josiah Pratt, who scored ten points along with six blocks, and Cam Higgins who scored 12 points. Pratt hasn't dropped below two blocks for seven straight games. Tayshaun Jones was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, even though South Point scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, Huss still came out on top. Huss narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past South Point 62-59. The score was all tied up 32-32 at the break, but Huss was the better team in the second half.
West Mecklenburg has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Huss, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season.
