Elberta is 0-10 against Robertsdale since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Elberta Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Robertsdale Golden Bears at 5:30 p.m. Elberta comes in on a streak of failing to score more than ten points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 51-10, which was the final score in Elberta's tilt against Blacksher on Tuesday. Elberta has not had much luck with Blacksher recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Catie Brown was Elberta's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Brown also led the team in rebounds with ten.
Meanwhile, Robertsdale lost to Fairhope at home by a decisive 46-27 margin on Friday.
Robertsdale's loss came about despite a quality game from Mallorie Rothe, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Rothe hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Hannah Johansen, who scored 9 points along with 3 steals.
Bayside Academy's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Elberta's defeat dropped theirs to 0-3.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Elberta have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 18.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Robertsdale struggles in that department as they've been even better at 20.4 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
