Lakeshore will be home for the holidays to greet the Salmen Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lakeshore has four straight wins, Salmen has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Lakeshore has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 22 points or more this season. They put the hurt on South Terrebonne with a sharp 69-45 win on Friday. Given Lakeshore's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while South Terrebonne is ranked 309th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Salmen lost to Slidell on the road by a decisive 62-48 margin on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Salmen has scored all season.
Lakeshore is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Salmen, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
Lakeshore came up short against Salmen in their previous meeting back in January, falling 80-67. Can Lakeshore avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
