The Dr. Phillips Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Lake Brantley Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Dr. Phillips comes in on six and Lake Brantley on seven.
Dr. Phillips took a 16-run defeat the last time they faced off against Apopka, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Dr. Phillips had just enough and edged out Apopka 5-4 on Tuesday.
Charles Estrella-Roa looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Dr. Phillips is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Diego Diaz was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ramses De Maio, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Lake Brantley earned a 4-1 victory over Seminole on Tuesday.
Elijah Guzman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cameron Penney, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Mauger, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.
Lake Brantley lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Lake Brantley pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Dr. Phillips, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Lake Brantley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Dr. Phillips has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .441. It's a different story for Lake Brantley, though, as they've only averaged .316. Will they be able to contain Dr. Phillips' hitters?
Dr. Phillips came out on top in a nail-biter against Lake Brantley when the teams last played back in March of 2023, sneaking past 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dr. Phillips since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
