The South Point Red Raiders fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They managed a 30-26 victory over Forestview on Thursday. Given South Point's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 81st, while Forestview is ranked 230th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Point to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chanyce Ford, who rushed for 208 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. Harrison McKinney also helped out as he racked up 109 rushing yards.
South Point now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Forestview, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
South Point will be playing at home against North Gaston at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. As for Forestview, they will head out on the road to face off against Stuart W. Cramer at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Stuart W. Cramer is on a four-game streak of home losses, Forestview a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
