The Wesleyan Wolves had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 49-21 victory over West Hall. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-6.
It was another big night for Ben Brown, who threw for 222 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes. Maddox Gartland also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Elijiah Hayes and Brett Sturm certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Hayes rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns, while Sturm rushed for 92 yards on only ten carries. Hayes is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played.
Wesleyan's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for West Hall, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wesleyan will take on Pickens at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd. As for West Hall, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lumpkin County at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd. Lumpkin County is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
