The Clinton Red Devils had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They snuck past Woodruff with a 52-47 win. That's another feather in the cap for Clinton, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Clinton to victory were Devin Swindler and Tushawan Richardson. Swindler almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds, while Richardson scored 17 points along with five assists and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Henderson, who scored seven points.
Clinton pushed their record up to 12-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Woodruff, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clinton will take on the Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Emerald will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Red Devils are ranked 103rd). As for Woodruff, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th.
