The West Franklin Falcons lost against the Mission Valley Vikings last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The match between the pair wasn't particularly close, with West Franklin falling 48-31. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for them in their matchups with Mission Valley: they've now lost nine in a row.
Mission Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lillie Foster out in front who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Foster has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Packard, who dropped a double-double on 11 rebounds and 11 blocks.
West Franklin has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8-1 record this season. As for Mission Valley, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
West Franklin will play host again and welcome Waverly, where tip off is scheduled for TBD on Tuesday. As for Mission Valley, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Veritas Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Veritas Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 297th, while Mission Valley is ranked 145th).
