Desert Ridge has gone a perfect 4-0 against Mountain View recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Desert Ridge Jaguars will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Mountain View Toros at 9:00 a.m. Desert Ridge will be strutting in after a win while Mountain View will be coming in after a loss.
Desert Ridge picked up another tournament win on Friday. They blew past Cibola 15-1. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Novi Muffo looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in March of 2024.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Halle Davis, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Elena Esquivel was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Desert Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Mountain View lost 8-2 to Pinnacle on Friday.
Mountain View now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Desert Ridge, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Mountain View's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Desert Ridge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .397. It's a different story for Mountain View, though, as they've only averaged .233. Will they be able to contain Desert Ridge's hitters?
