The Northumberland Christian Warriors came tearing into Tuesday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past Columbia County Christian with a 46-40 win. For Northumberland Christian, this counts as revenge for the 54-50 loss Columbia County Christian walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Columbia County Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Clay Farley, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds, and Pierce Cughan who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Northumberland Christian's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Columbia County Christian, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northumberland Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Juniata Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Juniata Christian is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Columbia County Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Walnut Street Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
