The Pleasant Valley Vikings extended their postseason success on Saturday against the Chico Panthers. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 28-19. Winning may never get old, but Pleasant Valley sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Lucas Benson was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 104 yards and four touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Chico still got an impressive performance from Dion Coleman, who rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Coleman was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards.
Pleasant Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Chico, their defeat ended a eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-2.
Pleasant Valley will take on Miramonte at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Miramonte's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. Chico does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
