Dobbs Ferry's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Denike, who had 21 kills, 15 digs, eight aces, and one block. That's the most aces Denike has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hollen Peet, who had 22 digs, 11 kills, five aces, and one block.
They weren't the only good server: Dobbs Ferry was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in 14 consecutive matches dating back to last season.
Dobbs Ferry's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Briarcliff, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Dobbs Ferry wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Edgemont on the 10th. As for Briarcliff, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Rhinebeck at 9:00 a.m. on the 27th.
