The Wayne Blue Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 61-38 loss at the hands of Cedar Catholic. Wayne has not had much luck with Cedar Catholic recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Frantzdie Barner and Addison Sharpe certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Barner scored 11 points, while Sharpe scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sharpe has scored all season.
Wayne has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Cedar Catholic, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-7.
Wayne won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge at 3:45 p.m. on January 20th. Hopefully Laurel-Concord-Coleridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday. As for Cedar Catholic, they will head out on the road to take on Ponca on Tuesday.
