After flying high against the Portola Bulldogs last Friday, The Northwood Timberwolves came back down to earth. Northwood fell just short of Laguna Hills by a score of 31-28. While losing is never fun, Northwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 360th, while Laguna Hills is ranked 179th).
Northwood's lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Edward Ma, who threw for 263 yards and four touchdowns. Ma is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played. Joseph Harper was another key contributor, picking up 150 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Among those leading the charge was Ryan Mckevitt, who rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown.
Northwood now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Laguna Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
Northwood will head out on the road to face off against Dana Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dana Hills is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games. As for Laguna Hills, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Portola at 7:00 p.m. Portola is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
