Peninsula added to the longest winning streak in 3A South Puget Sound this week by beating Bonney Lake, 30-7. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Seahawks.
Lakes lost to Meadowdale 24-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kemonee Jenkins ran for 30 yards and caught 2 passes for 17 yards in the defeat.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Auburn Mountainview's Gresch Jensen and Joey Cassano have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-1 quarterback Jensen has thrown for 2,306 yards this season, while Cassano has 80 catches for 1,274 yards. The Panthers' Ethan McElderry leads the league in rushing yards with 945.
In 175 carries McElderry has put up 945 yards this year.
Peninsula made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,263 from 1,350. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 30-7 victory over Bonney Lake last week.
