The Litchfield Dragons will venture away from home to take on the Annandale Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Monday, Litchfield didn't have quite enough to beat Dassel-Cokato and fell 5-4. The Dragons have struggled against the Chargers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Jordan Abbott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.
On the hitting side, Beau Schultz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Ben Olson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Annandale faced off against Glencoe-Silver Lake on Tuesday. The Cardinals came up short against the Panthers, falling 9-3.
Luke Lindquist was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Lindquist wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Cooper, who went 2-for-4 with one run.
Annandale now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Litchfield, their record is now 4-13.
Litchfield might still be hurting after the 7-1 defeat they got from Annandale in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Dragons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
