Papillion-LaVista scored a shocking upset when it eliminated Bellevue West, 31-21. At the time, the Thunderbirds were ranked 11th in the state, while the Monarchs were 43rd.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Papillion-LaVista, who defeated 11th ranked Bellevue West, 31-21. alec ditoro threw for 121 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 98 yards during the win.
Calvin Strong was a beast in the backfield as Omaha North beat Papillion-LaVista South.
Strong provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Vikings beat the Titans. Strong's favorite target this week was Marquise Lewis, who caught 2 passes for 104 yards.
Brad Brazeal threw for 272 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 30-50 with 1 interception.
CJ Johnson was the best wideout in A District 2 this week as Michael Huffman's team fell to Jeff Govier's team. Johnson racked up 12 receptions for 140 yards. Malik Hluchoweckyj helped Bellevue West's passing attack out by catching 13 balls for 101 yards.
The Thunderbirds' Brazeal and Johnson led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Brazeal has thrown for 1,207 yards this season, while Johnson has 36 catches for 602 yards. Strong from Omaha North leads the league in rushing with 1,233 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Burke and Larry Martin's team. The Bulldogs enters the contest ranked ninth in the state, while the Vikings ranks seventh.
Payton Nelson and Johnson provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Papillion-LaVista South. The connection was good for 82 yards, the longest such play in A District 2 this season.
