While it was all tied up 25-25 at halftime, the Community Vikings/Viqueens were not quite the Cannon County Lions's equal in the second half on Wednesday. Community took a hard 57-43 fall against the Lions. While losing is never fun, Community can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Lions are ranked 47th).
Community lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brooklyn Yoes, who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Yoes has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alyssa White, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Community has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Cannon County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Community will take on the Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Forrest has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 21. As for Cannon County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. Grundy County is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
