Basketball Game Preview: Early County Bobcats vs. Stewart County Royal Knights

Early County is 5-0 against Stewart County since December of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Early County Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Stewart County Royal Knights at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Early County has three straight wins, Stewart County has 26 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Saturday, Early County earned a 50-41 victory over Randolph-Clay. The win was all the more spectacular given the Bobcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Red Devils are ranked 48th).

Jabril Lindsey was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. Those 11 rebounds gave him a new career-high. Ahmari McClendon was another key player, putting up eight points.

Early County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Stewart County took a blow against Mitchell County on Saturday, falling 72-31.

Early County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Stewart County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Everything came up roses for Early County against Stewart County when the teams last played back in February, as the team secured a 72-24 victory. Will Early County repeat their success, or does Stewart County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
