The Lane Tech Champions will take on the York Dukes at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last three games Lane Tech has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Wednesday, Lane Tech needed a bit of extra time to put away Lincoln Park. They skirted past the Lions 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Champions have posted against the Lions since April 27, 2022.
Lane Tech got a great performance from Alex Delaney as he didn't allow a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched. Delaney has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Zolan Wyatt, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Conor Sullivan was another key player, going 1-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
Lane Tech kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, York entered their contest against Willowbrook on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Dukes fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Dukes have suffered since May 20, 2024.
Riggins Kohl was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent over his last three games.
On the hitting side, Josh Fleming made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Marco Giorno, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Lane Tech has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. As for York, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-3.
