The Doral Academy Firebirds stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat McArthur 66-28 on the road. The win was familiar territory for Doral Academy who now have five in a row.
Doral Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Angelina Deleon out in front who scored 16 points along with four steals. Deleon has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Ashley Martinez was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six steals.
Doral Academy is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for McArthur, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-5 record this season.
Doral Academy on the road again on Saturday and play against American Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. American Heritage has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for McArthur, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Coconut Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Coconut Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday.
