Bishop Carroll extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-10. They lost 10-1 to the Chestnut Ridge Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Huskies of the 10-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.
Bishop Carroll saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preston Gillin, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
As for Chestnut Ridge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3-1. Considering they have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
On Chestnut Ridge's side, Kole Clark and Brody Dull made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Clark didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Meanwhile, Dull tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those nine strikeouts gave Clark a new career-high. At the plate, Clark went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Dull went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Clark has snagged this season.
In other batting news, Chestnut Ridge let Tyler Yatta and Brody Halkovich run wild. Yatta got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while Halkovich went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That triple was Yatta's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Weyandt, who went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Bishop Carroll will square off against rival Bedford at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Chestnut Ridge is set to face off against their familiar foe Forest Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
