Basketball Recap: Benjamin Russell Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Childersburg wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Benjamin Russell, they should've done a better job of containing Iasia Anderson. The Benjamin Russell Wildcats breezed by the Childersburg Tigers to the tune of 72-43 on Tuesday thanks in part to Anderson, who went 10 of 18 en route to 23 points along with seven assists and seven steals. The match was her ninth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Cunningham, who went 5 of 8 en route to 10 points and eight rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

The victory made it two in a row for Benjamin Russell and bumps their season record up to 11-4. As for Childersburg, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Benjamin Russell will face off against Sylacauga at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Benjamin Russell is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.5 points per game this season. As for Childersburg, they will square off against Ramsay at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ramsay will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Childersburg surely won't give up without a fight.
