The New Richmond Lions can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They skirted past Clinton-Massie 39-37. The win was just what New Richmond needed coming off of a 41-17 loss in their prior match.
New Richmond's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sydney Miller, who scored 12 points along with 9 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Miller has scored at least 25% of New Richmond's points. Izzy Hughes was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 3 steals and 3 blocks.
New Richmond's victory bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Clinton-Massie, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-5.
New Richmond will take on Miami Valley Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Miami Valley Christian Academy is ranked 548th, while New Richmond is ranked 566th). As for Clinton-Massie, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Whiteoak at 4:30 p.m. Whiteoak will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
