The Wheeler Bearcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 14th straight loss. They were beaten by Hebron 73-28. Wheeler has struggled against Hebron recently, as their game on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Several Bearcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyne Vettickal, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Brady Rife, who scored eight points.
Wheeler struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They are winless (0-3) when they just don't pass the ball.
Wheeler's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Hebron, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 18-1.
Wheeler will head out on the road to take on Knox at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hebron, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against West Central at 8:00 p.m. on February 10th. Hebron is facing West Central at the right time seeing as West Central is stuck on a eight-game losing streak.
