The Sanford Warriors came tearing into Thursday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 69-60 win over Howard. 69 seems to be a good number for Sanford as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sanford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Khareem Hart, who scored 21 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Hart scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zir Ellegood, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Sanford pushed their record up to 11-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Howard, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sanford will challenge Salesianum at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Averaging 61.43 points so far this season, Sanford's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Salesianum better be ready for a challenge. As for Howard, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Elizabeth at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Elizabeth will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Howard surely won't give up without a fight.
