The Kaufer Seahawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Bloomington 53-25. Kaufer lost against Bloomington in their previous head to head last Friday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 45-23 score last time.
Bloomington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Khyli Proctor led the charge by scoring 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The game was Proctor's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Brown, who scored 15 points.
Kaufer bumped their record down to 10-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.0 points per game. As for Bloomington, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-7.
Kaufer's road trip will continue as they head out to face Refugio at 6:00 p.m. on December 28, 2023. Refugio is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. Bloomington will finish 2023 at home by hosting Kenedy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
