The Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Garden County Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on October 27th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Wilcox-Hildreth was fully in charge, breezing past Harvard 66-16 on the road. With Wilcox-Hildreth ahead 58-8 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Dagan Ortgiesen was the offensive standout of the contest as he threw for 83 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Graiden Ritner got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Garden County never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past Creek Valley 56-0 on the road. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Garden County had established a 42 point advantage.
Kole Fornander and Cable Larson were among the main playmakers for Garden County as the former rushed for 59 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries and the latter rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries.
Wilcox-Hildreth's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.5 points per game. As for Garden County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as Wilcox-Hildreth and Garden County haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Wilcox-Hildreth commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 6.2 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Garden County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.5 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
