Breathitt County is 0-5 against Rowan County since April of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Bobcats will face off against the Vikings at 6:30 p.m. Breathitt County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Bobcats on Thursday. Breathitt County never let Lee County get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The victory continues a trend for Breathitt County in their matchups with Lee County: they've now won eight in a row.
Blake Hudson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Breathitt County is 4-1 when Hudson posts two or more runs, but 6-8 otherwise.
In other pitching news, Jake Fugate looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Breathitt County: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 7-8 otherwise.

Back at the plate, Miles Hollon was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Caleb Bailey also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither Rowan County nor Wolfe County made it on the board until the eighth inning. The Vikings fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Vikings couldn't push the score so high this time.
Jayson Ingles spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits.
At the plate, Rowan County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abram Norden, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Rowan County's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-8. As for Breathitt County, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Breathitt County might still be hurting after the 10-1 defeat they got from Rowan County in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
