Hamlin had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 61-50 victory over the St. Mary Cardinals. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Cardinals are ranked 27th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hamlin's win bumped their record up to 16-2. As for St. Mary, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamlin will head out to square off against Britton-Hecla at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Mary, they will venture away from home to face off against Centerville at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
