The Central Cobras pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 61-55 defeat to they. They found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post eight fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the loss, Central saw an underclassman step up: CHAU DAVIS scored 14 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points DAVIS has scored all season. Another player making a difference was HARMON RANDOLPH, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alissa Azcuy, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Azcuy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Josephine Salazar, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Central's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
