The Liguori Academy Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 61-26 defeat at the hands of Girard College. Liguori Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-12.
Liguori Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Divine Scott-Allen, who scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Scott-Allen has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Girard College to victory, but perhaps none more so than Antoine Seals, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Seals has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Curtis, who scored 15 points.
Liguori Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Girard College, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.
Liguori Academy will head out on the road to face off against High School of the Future at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Girard College, they will square off against Roxborough at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
