Gallia Academy came into Saturday's match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 57-49 win over the River Valley Raiders on Saturday. The Blue Devils' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the loss, River Valley still got an impressive performance from Landon Burns, who went 7 for 16 on his way to 16 points. Braden Bennett was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 12 boards.

Gallia Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for River Valley, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gallia Academy and Chesapeake will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. River Valley will take on Wellston in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
