After a string of four wins, the Speedway Sparkplugs's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 62-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cascade. Speedway has not had much luck with Cascade recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Several Sparkplugs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Daniella Galvez, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five assists. Galvez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Alex DeLisle was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Among those leading the charge was Chloe Smith, who scored 19 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Liviair Campbell, who scored ten points.
Speedway's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Cascade, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.
Speedway will face off against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cascade, they will square off against Monrovia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monrovia is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
