The Lakeland Regional Lancers will head out on the road to face off against Sussex County Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Lakeland Regional is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Lakeland Regional was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-48 to Passaic Valley.
Despite their defeat, Lakeland Regional saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Noah Pagan, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Pagan has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Justin Meakem, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Sussex County Tech unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 62-41 walloping at the hands of Hackettstown. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sussex County Tech in their matchups with Hackettstown: they've now lost five in a row.
Lakeland Regional has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Sussex County Tech, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6.
Everything came up roses for Lakeland Regional against Sussex County Tech in their previous matchup back in December of 2019 as the team secured a 68-30 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakeland Regional since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
