The Ray Bearcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Patagonia an easy 51-25 win. Ray lost against Patagonia in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 52-27 score last time.
Despite the loss, Ray still got an impressive performance from Malena Goad, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Goad scored a full 44% of Ray's points, the 11th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Ray has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Patagonia, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ray will be home for the holidays to greet Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Patagonia, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on San Simon at 4:00 p.m. on December 19th.
