The Groveton Eagles will challenge the Profile Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Groveton has three straight wins, Profile has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Groveton's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Pittsburg with a sharp 22-0 victory.

Brocton Meunier made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with one home run, eight RBI, and five runs. Groveton is undefeated when Meunier posts two or more runs, but 7-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, Groveton let Dylan Simino and Konner Shannon run wild. Simino went 4-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI, while Shannon got on base in five of his six plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Shannon has become a key player for Groveton: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Hunter Parks, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Groveton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .816. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Profile came up short against Woodsville on Saturday, falling 13-3.
Profile's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Groveton, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
Everything went Groveton's way against Profile when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Groveton made off with a 14-6 victory. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
