Ranney are taking a road trip to face off against the Middletown South Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ranney will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Ranney not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since May 6, 2024 (when they won 14-0). They blew past Red Bank Regional 12-0. The game snapped a strange streak: the last three times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Justin Kauffman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Ranney is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Kauffman was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ranney got a massive performance out of Andrew Parisi, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Parisi has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brody Mauro, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.
Ranney lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Middletown South didn't have quite enough to beat Ocean Township on Monday and fell 3-1. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Middletown South also got a good showing from Chris Long, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Middletown South saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Robert Chiusano, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
This is the second loss in a row for Middletown South and nudges their season record down to 5-4. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only two runs. As for Ranney, their record is now 5-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Ranney has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Middletown South struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Ranney couldn't quite finish off Middletown South in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can Ranney avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
