The Montgomery Central Indians were the 45-42 winner over the Sycamore War Eagles when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. Montgomery Central fell 59-46 to Sycamore on Friday. Montgomery Central just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Drew Yarbrough, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Malik Peterson, who scored 11 points.
Montgomery Central has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Sycamore, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montgomery Central will take on Waverly Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Waverly Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Sycamore, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Creek Wood at 7:30 p.m. Sycamore will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while Creek Wood is ranked 128th).
