The Harding County Ranchers waltzed into their match Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Timber Lake 55-10 at home. Fans of Harding County have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Harding County can attribute much of their success to Claire Verhulst, who scored ten points along with nine steals. The match was Verhulst's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bailey Verhulst, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Harding County's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points per game. As for Timber Lake, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Harding County will head out on the road to face off against Hettinger/Scranton at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Timber Lake will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Central at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th.
