Severance's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brady Varney led the charge by scoring 11 points along with nine rebounds and six blocks. The contest was Varney's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Hoffman, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Mountain View still got an impressive performance from Dylan Garland, who scored 23 points. That's the first time this season that Garland scored 15 or more points.
Mountain View struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Severance pulled down 12 offensive rebounds.
The win got Severance back to even at 3-3. As for Mountain View, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Severance will face off against Niwot at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Niwot is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Mountain View, they will head out on the road to face off against Fort Morgan at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Fort Morgan is ranked 303rd, while Mountain View is ranked 297th).
