Softball Recap: Eastmont Wins Going Away Against Davis

Eastmont won the last time they faced Davis and things went their way on Friday too. The Wildcats blew past the Pirates 23-3. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Brittany Howe made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, Halle Radach was incredible, firing off five runs, three doubles, and four RBI while going 5-for-5. Another player making a difference was Allie Hastings, who scored four runs while going 4-for-4.

Eastmont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .690. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Eastmont pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Davis, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Eastmont is set to square off against their familiar foe West Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Davis will challenge rival Eisenhower at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
