Football Recap: Stamford's Punishing Run Game Keeps Rolling

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Stamford had no problem doing just that on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Post Antelopes as they made off with a 48-26 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 13 matches by 22 points or more so far this season.

Stamford's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Christian Duran, who threw for 227 yards and three touchdowns on perfect 11-for-11 passing, and also rushed for 39 yards and one touchdown. That's the most passing touchdowns Duran has posted since back in November of 2023. Kaston Vega was another key rusher, rushing for 131 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries.

Duran was just one part of a punishing run game: Stamford was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 227 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 152 rushing yards in 14 consecutive games.

Stamford's win bumped their record up to 14-0. As for Post, the loss snapped their winning streak at 13 games and leaves them with a 13-1 record.

Stamford wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 28-13 victory against Hamilton on the 12th. Post does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
