The Douglas Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 21 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Tombstone with a sharp 46-25 win on Saturday. The victory was nothing new for Douglas as they're now sitting on six straight.
Scarlette Ruiz was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with five steals. The game was her sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keyra Espinosa, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Tombstone lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brooklynn Penrose, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Rachel Thursby, who scored six points.
Douglas has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Tombstone, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
Douglas and Benson will face off at 5:00 p.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
